Wake Forest Crowns Historic Season with NCAA Title

Wake Forest men’s tennis capped off a historic 40–1 season by winning the NCAA Championship, defeating defending champion TCU 4–2 in the final. With strong performances in doubles and clutch wins in singles, the Demon Deacons secured their first national title in a season to remember.

After their record-breaking season, the Wake Forest men’s tennis team entered the NCAA tournament as the No. 1 seed. Storming through the bracket, they faced off against TCU—the reigning and defending champion—in the NCAA final hosted at Baylor University, where they secured a 4–2 victory to cap off their 40–1 season with a perfect ending.

Taking convincing wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, Wake Forest was able to secure the doubles point and carry that positive momentum into singles play. While falling short on courts 5 and 3, it was the Demon Deacons who won in straight sets on court 1, before Luca Pow clinched a three-set match at the No. 6 spot. Now just one victory away from a national title, it was DK Suresh who sealed the deal—winning a tight three-set match and serving big to the T on match point. Wake Forest’s historic season came to an end with another dominant display against the No. 2 seed TCU.

Despite losing some players next year, the Deacons will be a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming season, as they look to build a dynasty.
